Nassau County Trucking Tickets
The majority of Nassau County Trucking Violations are returnable to the Nassau County First District Court located at 99 Main Street, Hempstead. Trucking tickets made out to a corporation will require the appearance of an attorney. Most of the trucking violations at the First District Court are handled by a prosecutor from the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office designated to handle the trucking violations.
The Lynbrook Village Court and Glen Cove City Court also handle a large number of trucking tickets. At the Glen Cove City Court, trucking violations are prosecuted by a prosecutor from the City Attorney’s Office. The judge at the Glen Cove City Court is very strict. At the Lynbrook Village Court, trucking violations are prosecuted by the village prosecutor.
Trucking Tickets in Nassau County can be quite expensive particularly when they involve overweight vehicles. Trucking violations tend to be more expensive then basic VTL ( Vehicle and Traffic Law) violations. Also it is not uncommon to receive multiple tickets at the same time. Fines for overweight violations can run into the thousands of dollars.
The ultimate resolution of the case depends on a variety of factor. including the court that the tickets are returnable to. Certain courts prosecute trucking tickets more vigorously than others. Regardless of the court, New York State Law requires that corporations be represented by counsel. Consequently when tickets are written to a corporation, an attorney is required to appear in court on the corporation’s behalf.
As a Nassau County Traffic Lawyer, I have handled thousands of trucking violations. If you, your company or your driver or has received trucking tickets please give me a call and I will advise you what I believe the resolution will be with my representation. As traffic attorney I am familiar with the nuances of each of the Nassau Courts that I appear in. My goal on all trucking tickets is to get as many of them dismissed and to keep the fines as low as possible.
